Local Business Spotlight- Cafe Sparrow

After owning Warmth Company for over eight years, Naomi and Monica have developed a relationship of love and trust with you, our customers. Because of this we thought it would be fun to share our favorite local businesses with you. It is only natural and perfect that we would start with Café Sparrow!

Cafe Sparrow

From the very first day we noticed customers coming into our store after a Sparrow lunch or popping in on their way to dinner. All we have ever heard is glowing reviews about their yummy food. We at Warmth often have a to-go lunch or an occasional meeting at Sparrow.

One recent Friday night we decided to have a girl’s night out with April Martin, our local jewelry designer. She is also a very discerning foodie, so of course we went to Café Sparrow. April insisted right away that we try the cheese fondue. I would never have chosen it myself as my memories of it were sticky and sour from Swiss cheese, not appealing! Their bubbly fondue on the other hand tasted light and was served with mostly fruit, a touch we loved!

To kick off our girl’s night, we of course had to have champagne! We wanted a delicious yet budget friendly kind so we chose Cruet Brut Rose. It was such a beautiful rose color that went well with the pretty decorations.

Everything was seamless as we transitioned into our main dish. While the friendly waitress (who was wearing one of April’s pieces) served us we discussed the trunk show April was having the next day and the future of Warmth Company. Our food was both beautiful and delicious. Naomi and April had pork chops with apple butter and brie, Monica enjoyed her sesame encrusted salmon, and Sharai ate a sage and brown butter mushroom risotto. The fixed menu has a delightful selection of items to choose from but we really love the fact that there are always at least three daily specials. If you became a regular, which we don’t see how you couldn’t, you wouldn’t get bored!

Some of our best memories involve beautiful and quaint cafes while walking around Paris. Café Sparrow is such a treasure because we can feel like we are in France while in Aptos. You are in for a treat when you come in for lunch, dinner, or the Sunday brunch. They do not serve cocktails, but have a very nice wine list. Also, if the man in your life thinks that it is too girly, I dare him to try their burger- the best in town! You can find their menu online at cafesparrow.com, and follow their delectable photos on Instagram and Facebook. If you’ve yet to taste this treasure, give them a try, you might see us there!
